I grew up in a rural Illinois town, where my mother served as a University Professor, and my dad, when not working at the local glass factory, was a lay minister. Partnering with a major defense contractor as a senior in high school, I alternated between attending university and working full time. I missed my university graduation (Bachelor of Science, Economics) and, with a mix of trepidation, experience, education, and a sense of adventure, I accepted a position in Tehran, Iran. Later residing in a small village forty-five kilometers outside Isfahan. Despite navigating rural chaos, martial law, and a revolution I eventually returned to the United States.
After a few years stateside, that adventurous spirit beckoned once again when the Middle East called. I embraced a position with the Arabian American Oil Company (now Saudi Arabian Oil Company). Despite enduring an Iraqi invasion and two subsequent Gulf wars, my strong work ethic propelled me to a general management position in contracts and procurement. This role placed me at the forefront of new, high-value projects, necessitating collaboration with executive management from several major European and Asian firms. During this time, I conducted several billion dollars in business.
I retired alongside my wife, Rhonda, after a fulfilling 41-year career. The idea of writing a novel had been suggested to me multiple times, and one day, I began. Echoes of Revolution, is the first in a series. Three subsequent novels are complete. I'm the perfect author for these stories, having lived more of my life in the Middle East than in the United States. My professional experiences involved navigating diverse cultures, including living in Tehran, Shah-in-Shar, Dhahran, Glasgow, and Jeddah, as well as with extensive travel in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. Travels have taken me around the world numerous times.
We are currently living in middle Tennessee and plan to stay awhile. I am currently investigating a creative writing program with Middle Tennessee State University.
